Greater Vancouver Baptist Church planted its roots in East Vancouver over forty years ago, and today, our community continues to grow!

Through the years, people from all corners of the world have joined us and formed life-long friendships rooted in a shared connection with God.

Connection has always been the heartbeat of our church family, and we’d love to connect with you too on March 15th, for Connection Sunday!

We were created for connection.

God designed us to live in relationship with Him and with one another, which is why the human desire to belong runs so deep in every heart.

…However,

the Bible tells us that sin has broken that connection. Our sin separates us from God and leaves us trying to fill the emptiness with people, activity, or religion. No matter how hard we try, true connection can never be restored until our relationship with God is made right.

That is why Jesus Christ came. God came to us in the form of a man; in the person of Jesus Christ. He lived a sinless life and willingly offered Himself as a sacrifice to atone for the sins of all mankind. Through His death on the cross and His resurrection, Jesus removed the barrier of sin and made a way for us to be reconnected with God.

This connection is not earned by being a good person or by simply going to church. It comes through faith. When we place our trust in Jesus Christ, our sins are forgiven and our connection with God is restored.

And it is only after we are connected to God that we are welcomed into His family. Contrary to what many seem to think, the church is not just a place to attend, it is a family to belong to. Our connection with one another flows from our shared connection with God.

So, if you are searching for belonging, peace, or purpose, we invite you to begin here: get connected to God through His Son, Jesus Christ.

If you would like to learn more about what this means, we would love to talk with you.
